PHILIPPINES: Two cargo ships fired upon 8 Dec 08 at approximately 2330 local time in the Sultan Kudarat province in position 06-30N 124-00E. Armed bandits raided two cargo ships in the southern Philippines, wounding two sailors on board. Gunmen onboard pump boats strafed and fired a grenade launcher at the two cargo vessels. A chief engineer and his apprentice on the cargo vessels were hit by shrapnel from an M79 grenade launcher (LM: ABS-CBN news, Xinhua).
