The fishing vessel's 30 member crew opted to resist the attack, overpowering and disarming the suspects. Five of the twelve attackers were arrested by the Philippine Coast Guard and the Cadiz City Police Office in Isla Higantes, while the others were able to evade capture. No casualties were reported in the ship attack but one man was killed and 18 injured in the other incidents.
