The duty oiler spotted the robbers in the engine room and raised the alarm after evading capture by the robbers. Seeing the crew’s alertness, the robbers escaped with ship’s spare engine parts. The crew was reported safe and the incident was reported to local authorities.

After the duty crew reported the robbers in the engine room, the bridge raised the alarm and mustered the crew. Upon hearing the alarm, the robbers escaped with stolen engine spares. The ship reported the incident to Panjang Vessel Traffic Service after which local authorities boarded the tanker to investigate.

The perpetrators gained access to the vessel and escaped unnoticed with ship’s property. Duty crew members noticed the theft while conducting routine rounds, and reported the incident to the local agent.

On 13 February, robbers boarded the Singapore-flagged container ship ALS JUVENTUS while the ship was berthed at the Port of Jakarta, near position 06:05S �?? 105:53E. The third officer reported that the padlock hinge for the passageway door leading to the engine room was broken. There was no sign of any perpetrators onboard or nearby. Spare parts for the auxiliary engine were reported missing. The incident was reported to the ship's Company Security Officer.
